
Clare joined Denneen & Company in the Fall of 2009 as a senior corporate communications executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years' experience in managing corporate communications, corporate and product public relations, investor relations, crisis management and corporate branding, primarily in the biotechnology and high technology industries.
Both as a seasoned functional manager and consultant, Clare is an expert at translating organizational vision into tangible growth strategies through the creation and implementation of strategic branding and communications programs. Clare's key strength is the ability to navigate large organizations and to turn very complex information and issues into value-creation strategies and results for clients.
Clare's previous experience extends beyond senior corporate roles to consulting and entrepreneurial ventures. As founder of Midgley Advisors, a management and communications consulting practice, she worked with senior management to achieve their often aggressive business and branding objectives.
For eight years, Clare was the Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, a genomics-based biopharmaceutical company (Cambridge, Massachusetts). As a member of the senior leadership team, Clare built an award-winning function dedicated to the enhancement of the company's brand and growth of the company's market capitalization which grew from $500 million to over $15 billion. Clare served as the senior Investor Relations officer and corporate spokesperson. As such, she was an advisor to the Board of Directors and management on disclosure policies, financial earnings guidance and regulatory compliance for public companies. Clare was also part of the Oncology business unit responsible for the launch of the novel cancer therapeutic VELCADE. She completed her tenure at Millennium as Vice President, Corporate Strategy.
Clare's experience also includes the establishment of two successful communications practices at global public relations agencies. As Vice President at Fitzgerald Communications, an agency focused on the high technology sector, she built an investor relations practice and provided strategic counsel on investor relations, corporate positioning and financial and crisis communications. Clare also served as Vice President at Hill & Knowlton, where she managed the first global bioscience practice serving biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, and financial services companies.
Clare is a frequent speaker on creating value through strategic communications. Clare is also a longstanding member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center, a not-for-profit organization focused on strengthening the relationships between patients and caregivers.
